"What Are The Most Interesting Thoughts To Think?"

If the happiest people think the most interesting thoughts, what are those thoughts? Let's find out...

Shekhar, a fellow reader of this website, wrote in with what I think is a great question. Check it out...

Respected Sir,
Thank you very much.
I have heard one saying i.e. "The happiest person is that one who thinks the most interesting thoughts". I think it is a right statement. Is it? If so, what type of thoughts are called interesting thoughts. How can we think such type of thoughts to be the happiest?
I am always waiting for your kind information.
Sincerely Yours,
Shekahr Thapa.

Here is my reply:

Dear Shekahr,
What a GREAT question! Thank you for asking it.
What interests one person may be of no interest to another. So the answer is that you are happiest when you are thinking the thoughts that are most interesting to YOU.
Let us say that you were fascinated by hawks, and wanted to be a falconer (someone who keeps and hunts with birds of prey). You love everything about this pasttime. For you, you are probably going to be happier thinking about falconing and birds of prey than having to think about doing your business accounts or how to fix a TV.
So, most people are happiest when they are free to spend time thinking about that which they are most passionate about? They are then following their interest....

There is another way of looking at this. And that is, thinking thoughts that give you pleasure, as opposed to thinking thoughts that bring you pain. Usually this means thinking positive, life-enhancing, goal-orientated or grateful thoughts, rather than negative, cynical, destructive, or complaining type thoughts. One set of thoughts leads to positive feelings; the other set of thoughts leads to negative feelings.
So, every moment we have a choice as to the thoughts that we can entertain in our minds. Our creative power is in choosing the thoughts that we think. We can choose thoughts that make us happy or thoughts that make us miserable. Thoughts that make us happy could be said to be more interesting to us, and to others, because they make us happier and a better person to be around.
Lastly, spontaneous happiness is a by-product of being creative, productive and absorbed in working towards worthy goals. Any thoughts that contribute to our own growth, and help us to be more creative, more productive, and get us closer to our goals can be described as 'interesting'.
An interesting thought that can make us more creative or productive, is 'how can I make this even better?'

In the School of Thinking they teach an attitude which is codified as CVStoBVS meaning 'Current View of Situation to Better View of Situation'. It means you always look at what you presently have and think about how you can either make it better or appreciate it more. This engages your thinking and sets you on the path of creative living.
I hope this helps answer your questions on this subject. Thank you.
Wishing you the best of the best,
